Abstract
ABSTRACT The study considers peculiarities of structural optimization of pipeline transport systems that help to ensure the required level of their resistance to development of the process of progressive blocking of nodes. It is shown that the highest level of resistance of network structures to consistently increasing risks of damage is achieved in systems with the largest composition of the subset G1 (source to consumer links), under the condition of high valence of the source node of the target product. The valence of an individual system node is a number of pipelines converging into it, and the linear elements connecting directly the source and consumers of the product are considered to belong to the subset G1. The established regularities allow solving the problems of searching for optimal network structures that are resistant to development of emergency situations, by the mechanism of progressive blocking of nodes in design and reconstruction of pipeline transport systems. Keywords: transport, system, pipeline, structure, optimization, damage.

Abstract
ABSTRACT A finite-element model of a railway embankment was developed. Calculations of residual deformations of an active zone of a roadbed using the modified Mohr - Coulomb model in an elastoplastic setting, as well as a comparative evaluation of residual sediments of soil during cyclic loading from wheels of rolling stock with axle load values of 23.5; 25; 27 and 30 tf were carried out. It is shown that as the loading cycles increase, the dependence of accumulation of residual deformations for clay soils asymptotically tends to a consolidation line of II kind. The intensity of accumulation of residual deformations is higher, the greater are soil moisture and axial load. Keywords: railway embankment, soil models, finite element model, residual deformations, axial load, soil moisture. Work was made within the project RFFI 17-20-01088.

Abstract
ABSTRACT A detailed analysis of efficiency of operational work in conditions of reforming of the national economy and railways (1992-2017) is carried out. The need for a significant increase in efficiency based on implementation of technologically and economically sound innovative solutions in the long term to 2030 is emphasized. It is noted that freight transportation is the main income-generating business of the industry and, at the same time, a large part of the operating costs of railway transport is also falling on them, that is why the level of organization of work in cargo traffic is of crucial importance for economically efficient and sustainable operation of railways. It is concluded that in order to further enhance the efficiency of their operational activities, new dynamics of innovations in the framework of the general innovation-oriented development of the industry is required. Abstract
ABSTRACT European experts believe that development of high-speed rail requires upgrading of existing technologies and transport infrastructure, changing organization of traffic, and control and management system. In addition, new standards of safety, environmental friendliness, sustainability, better means of signaling and control are needed. It is believed that the US rail cargo traffic service has made progress through specially allocated tracks and reduced downtime. In Europe, introduction of such projects is still impossible, which leads to long delays in rail cargo delivery. Downtime is due to the fact that priority is given to passenger trains, as well as to violations in operation of signaling systems, inefficiency of loading and unloading of goods. At the same time, organization of services in the sphere of express delivery of goods in Europe is considered as the most important task that will result in reduction of technical and bureaucratic barriers at the national borders, and will help to attract new markets, clients, customers to the railway sector. Keywords: high-speed cargo traffic, railway transportation, communication control systems, traffic delay, regularity of transportation, speed of delivery of goods, high-speed traffic mode.

Abstract
ABSTRACT The article is devoted to the analysis of modern approaches to ensuring the efficiency of transport processes in the regions of the Far North and similar regions. Taking into account the natural and geographical specifics in those zones, the risks of deviating the planned route trajectories of traffic are particularly high, as well as the probability of occurrence of abnormal situations that creates difficulties in introduction of mathematical methods of transport planning, complex automated control systems using the means and technologies of transport telematics, satellite navigation, mobile and radio communication. The main goals of creation of an automated satellite navigation system for support of road transport are presented, the functions of information collection and transmission using telematics means are provided, which are used to equip the vehicles of enterprises. The model provides that the received coordinates are automatically stored in the receiver’s non-volatile memory and transferred to the local operator centers of the regional branches. Keywords: satellite navigation, efficiency, dispatching control, Far North, road transport, cargo transportation, GLONASS/GPS.

Abstract
ABSTRACT The article is devoted to development of a model for substantiating a region’s need for containerization of cargo transportation. The model includes two interrelated elements: a method for substantiating container suitability for cargoes and an imitation algorithm for planning of the region’s need for containerization. The planning of the need for containerization links the demand of enterprises for transportation (taking into account the levels of product container suitability) and the available resources of the container transport system (terminals, container fleet, rolling stock). Further development of the model assumes assessment of costs and benefits of the region from development of the container system. Verification of the simulation model at the example of Sverdlovsk region demonstrates its efficiency and adequacy of reality. Keywords: container transportation, containerization, container suitability of cargo, social and economic system of the region, development of the region, resources, simulation model, organization of interaction.
