Abstract

N.Benardos left a brilliant trace in the history of Russian electric engineering. In spite of the fact that he had never graduated from any engineer faculty he made more than 200 inventions. He designed steamships and other vehicles, made a great contribution to mechanical engineering and railway industry. But now he is mostly known as a Russian inventor of carbon arc welding.
