SERVICE ROLE OF IT-DIVISIONS
Abstract
The article describes the role of IT-units in the structural organization of JSC Russian Railways, the service model of IT-management based on ITSM/ITIL principles. The authors argue that interaction of IT-divisions with service customers permits engineering and technical maintenance of business processes and transforms IT-divisions into business partners of railway entities which are their services’ customers. The model structure proposed by the authors shows the core elements of the service and first of all the services of the network node of JSC Russian Railways Internet.
