Abstract
We reprint an article compiled from issue 67 of the journal Railway Business of 1900 (pp.74-76).The article summarizes the problems that coal industry had more than a century ago and that have certain semblance with modern situation. The coal industry had to solve the issues of insufficiency of railways and rail cars, lack of investment for further development, deficiency of staff and workforce with necessary skills and competences.
