FORMULA FOR CALCULATING THE RESTORING FORCE FOR WHEELS WITH A CURVILINEAR PROFILE

Abstract

For the English abstract and full text of the article please see the attached PDF-File (English version follows Russian version).ABSTRACT A method is proposed for calculating the restoring force of a wheel set using wheels with a curvilinear profile having a parabolic shape. The corresponding mathematical calculations are made. The results of the calculations showed that the application of the curvilinear profile increases the restoring force compared to the wheels having a conical surface. Simultaneously it was established that the restoring force plays the role of elastic force.
